2026 Head Football Coaching Changes

Bob Jones - Kelvis White decided to retire after 25 years of service in the state. The last six seasons were spent at Bob Jones where his teams were 29-35 overall but 0-4 in the playoffs. During his career Coach White also was the head coach at Dothan and Mae Jemison.

his record in eighteen seasons as a head coach stands at 93-100. Along with his father Louis and brother Laron the family has a total of 456 victories in Alabama.

The Patriots have not won a playoff game since 2013 and will in search of a leader to not only get to a post season playoff game but to bring home a victory in Class 7A.

2026 Season - Seth Parker returns to his hometown as he will lead the Patriots into the 2026 football season. Parker graduated from Bob Jones and spent several years as an assistant at the school. His two seasons as the head coach at Priceville produced a 10-12 record including 8-4 in 2025.

Central Phenix City - Patrick Nix leaves Central after six very successful seasons. Nix led the Red Devils to the 2023 AHSAA Class 7A State Championship, three state title game appearances, six state semifinals and four region titles. In thirteen seasons overall, his teams finished 131-36 with three state championships, two coming at Pinson Valley.

2026 Season - Cody Flournoy returns to Central after serving two stints with the program previously. But this time he will be back as the head football coach of the Red Devils. Flournoy is a proven winner and owns a record of 80-31 in nine seasons as a head coach.

He spent the last seven seasons at Jackson leading the Aggies to a state championship in each of the past two seasons.

Fairhope - Tim Carter

2026 Season - Vacant

Foley - Deric Scott and Foley parted ways after six seasons. The Lions were 4-6 and missed the playoffs for the third straight season under Coach Scott. Foley will be headed a different direction hoping to get back to winning playoff games something they have not seen since 2014 when Todd Watson left the program.

Over the past ten seasons the Lions are just 2-51 against teams with a winning record. That is not going to be acceptable to the proud fans from Lion Land.

2026 Season - Bryan Moore arrives in Foley with hopes of turning around a program that has fallen on tough times over the past decade. He will bring with him a winning attitude and a record for being competitive even in the highest classifications. Moore has a dozen seasons under his belt as a head coach with an impressive 105-28 record.

Each of his teams have won at least seven games and qualified for the playoffs each season.

Hazel Green - Fred Farrier was relieved of his coaching duties after seven games of the 2025 football season at Hazel Green with a 2-5 record. Torrey Strong stepped in to serve as the interim head coach the final three games of the season.

The Trojans have not had a winning season since 2016 when they won six games.

Hazel Green has never been a football power by any means and has not won a playoff game in eight attempts at the post season. Over the past twenty years the Tojans have seen ten different head coaches lead the football program with very little luck.

2026 Season - Juwan Simpson has been hired as the next head coach at Hazel Green for the 2026 football season. Simpson is a native of Decatur and graduate of Austin High School. He went on to play football at Alabama from 2003 to 2006 where he became a star performer on the field.

Simpson spent eight seasons in the Canadian Football League where his team won the Grey Cup in 2008 and 2014. He most recently served as an assistant at East Mississippi Community College.

Oak Mountain - Shane McComb leaves Oak Mountain after three seasons in Alabama. His 2025 football team finished 4-6 in arguably the toughest region in the state. Just two region wins in those three seasons was not enough for him to retain his job.

He did seem to have the Eagles headed in the right direction but the schedule proved to be difficult with so many excellent programs in region 3. The Eagles will be in search of their seventh head coach since the school opened in 1999.

2026 Season - Jason Kervin served as the strength and conditioning coordinator at Pelham High School in the 2025 season. He will become the latest head football coach at Oak Mountain in 2026. Kervin began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Calera for two seasons starting in 2006. He moved north and was the offensive coordinator at Hoover for the next twelve seasons.

Alpharetta, Georgia was his next stop where he was the head coach from 2020 through the 2024 football season.

Opelika - Bryan Moore resigned as the head football coach at Opelika after leading the Bulldogs the past two seasons including a trip to the Super 7 Finals in Birmingham in December. His two seasons at Opelika produced a 19-7 record in one of the most difficult regions in the state.

Moore has a record of 105-28 in eleven seasons as a head coach and his teams have qualified for the playoffs each year. His career as a head coach began in 2015 at Eufaula and included stops at Jasper and Hartselle.

2026 Season - Jonathan Chandler after just one season as the head coach at Catholic Montgomery makes the move east to Opelika where he will take over from Bryan Moore who resigned in December. Chandler is an Opelika native who played football for the Bulldogs before he went on to play quarterback and receiver for Troy University.
